VANCOUVER, Sept. 11 - Mawson Resources Limited ("Mawson") TSX - MAW; Frankfurt - MRY. Mr. Michael Hudson, President & CEO, announces that the Caceres Oeste No. 10195 investigation permit for "Section D" (energy minerals including uranium) has been granted ("Otorgamiento"). The claim lies in the Extremadura province of western Spain and is the first to be granted of the Company's 11 uranium investigation permits which cover 82,056 hectares. Mr Hudson comments: "Granting of the first investigation permit is a significant milestone for Mawson in Spain. Other investigation permits are progressing to granting through the relevant provincial authorities, 9 having attained definitive admission ("Admisisn Definitiva"), the final stage of permitting before granting. We look forward to immediately advancing our exploration activities in Spain."

An airborne radiometric survey is planned to cover Mawson's permit applications in Spain during October 2008.

The Caceres Oeste permit covers an airborne radiometric (uranium high/thorium low) anomaly that extends over a distance of 25 kilometres on the western contact zone between a granite and shale metasediments. Historic exploration focussed on the eastern flank of the granite and located uranium mineralization outside of Mawson's claim (Figure 1).

The qualified person for the Mawson's Spanish projects, Mark Saxon, director and vice-president of exploration for Mawson, and a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, has reviewed and verified the contents of this release.

About the Company: Mawson Resources holds significant uranium resources in the nuclear energy reliant countries of Spain, Sweden and Finland. As the European Union reduces its reliance on carbon-based energy sources, Mawson is well placed as the Company develops its exploration portfolio towards the sustainable production of uranium in the shortest possible time frame.

On behalf of the Board,

"Michael Hudson"
